Dashboard

The Dashboard is the central overview of your Secryn deployment. It provides real-time visibility into projects, vaults, and security activity, helping teams understand system state at a glance before drilling into specific resources.

What the Dashboard Shows

At a high level, the Dashboard surfaces:

  • Total Projects, Vaults, Secrets, Keys, and Certificates
  • Recently updated or accessed resources
  • Expiring keys and certificates
  • Recent user and system activity
  • Deployment metadata (version, environment, health)

This view is read-only by default for non-privileged users and adapts based on role.

📌 Content shown on the Dashboard is role-aware. Admins and Project Managers see more operational and system-level insights than Contributors or Read-Only users.

Dashboard Layout

The Dashboard is divided into multiple sections, each focused on a specific aspect of the system.

Overview Metrics

High-level counters summarize the current state of your deployment, such as how many projects exist and how many secrets or certificates are active.

Recent Activity

Shows the most recent actions across the platform, such as:

  • Secret creation or updates
  • Key or certificate provisioning
  • User access changes
  • Configuration updates

This data is sourced from audit and request logs and helps teams quickly identify recent changes.

Expiration & Alerts

Highlights resources approaching expiration, including:

  • Certificates nearing expiry
  • Keys with defined expiration dates
  • Disabled or inactive resources

This section complements scheduled email notifications and digest reports.

Projects & Vault Snapshot

Provides a quick snapshot of:

  • Recently accessed projects
  • Vaults with active changes
  • Restricted vault indicators

This makes it easy to jump directly into frequently used areas.

Role-Based Visibility

The Dashboard automatically adapts based on the user’s role:

Admins

  • Full system overview
  • Access to logs, backups, and app settings indicators

Project Managers

  • Project-level metrics and vault activity

Contributors

  • Resource activity limited to accessible vaults

Read-Only Users

  • Visibility into metadata and masked values only

No configuration is required—this behavior is enforced by RBAC.

From the Dashboard, users can:

  • Jump directly to Projects or Vaults
  • Investigate expiring resources
  • Access detailed logs for recent actions
  • Open the About Secryn modal for version and deployment details

The Dashboard is designed as a starting point, not a control surface—most actions are performed within their respective sections.
